Welcome to Sheering School
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our values:
Welcome to Sheering CE Primary School. At our small, village, Church school, we are very proud of our ‘AWESOME’ values Adoration, Wisdom, Endurance, Service, fOrgiveness, eMpathy and gEnerosity) which underpin the whole curriculum in developing compassionate, courageous, resilient and enthusiastic children within the context of a caring Christian community.
With just over 100 pupils, Sheering School prides itself on its family feel and strong links with the local community.
Our vision statement:
‘At Sheering School, where Everyone Matters,
We work together to be joyful, to flourish and succeed.
We celebrate the uniqueness of every child in our School community because
We are God’s masterpiece.
Ephesians 2:10
Our ethos:
Our strong Christian ethos supports the learning journey of all our children, helping them to develop their love of learning and to support their spiritual, emotional and academic endeavours.
‘Everyone Matters’ recognises that every individual involved with the school is valued.
Hidden behind our Victorian frontage is a vibrant and exciting learning community. Alongside the key components of the National Curriculum, we offer a developing, engaging curriculum where sport, the arts and mental well-being are valued as much as the core subjects, to enable our children to develop into happy, critical thinkers, equipped to face the challenges of life in the twenty first century.
We believe that your involvement in this process is crucial and we will provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about the progress of your child. We are keen to have parental involvement at all levels, and if you have any time to come into school and work with us, you will be made very welcome.
Sheering School is a feeder school for Leventhorpe Academy.
We have strong links with Sheering Village Pre-School and many children join our Reception class here at Sheering School from the pre-school. Click here to be directed to their website Sheering Village Pre-School.
The staff and Governors are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children.
Yours sincerely,
Lorna Brittaine
